Leaking Hoses or Loose Clamps

One of the most frequent problems is a leak from a worn-out hose or a loose clamp. The Ram 1500's hoses carry coolant between the radiator, engine, and other parts. Over time, these hoses can crack or weaken, and clamps may loosen. If you notice coolant under your truck or the temperature gauge rising, check these parts first.

Failing Thermostat or Water Pump

The thermostat controls when coolant flows through the engine, while the water pump pushes it where it needs to go. If either fails, your engine may overheat. A stuck thermostat might block coolant flow entirely. A worn water pump may leak or stop working, which means coolant won't circulate.

Clogged Radiator or Oil Cooler
